I recently found out about MAIL ART - where you send artwork to organizations that display the received mail art in a gallery, school library, or a similar place, or you exchange pieces with individual mail artists.

How do i find the individual mail artists to exchange with and participate in mail art?

you can check International Union of Mail-Artists here. There are many projects. Also there are comunities in Google+ like [plus.google.com] or facebook (search there for mail art)
