With a collection of over 1,200 pieces of fine art, including both works on paper and ceramics, the Canton Museum of Art would have no trouble filling its 10,000 square-feet of gallery space on its own. Founded as the Little Civic Art Gallery during the days of the Depression and the WPA, the museum has evolved into an impressive collection of American artworks from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. However, the curators aren't interested in keeping things static. They dedicate portions of their museum to national touring exhibits, local artists, and community events. As a sign of international support for Puerto Rican art in these moments of cultural crisis or uneasiness and with the desire that it again manifests itself quickly in the local and international sphere, the Association of Plastic Artists of Puerto Rico makes this international call for Art Mail / Art Mail under the title "Live the Art" in a brotherly embrace of the creators of the world towards our artistic and cultural expressions.
Demonstrating in this way that no matter the natural or man-made adversities, always the art and culture of the peoples will be manifested and shine for the enjoyment of humanity.

This year, Canada is celebrating its 150th birthday. We asking Mail Art Artists or anyone out there to create & submit a small postcard sized piece of mail art. “Canada – Celebrating 150 Years Mail Art Exhibit” will run in conjunction with the Ninth Annual Art Among Friends Exhibition – September 30th & October 1st, 2017. The exhibit is being organized by Grade 8 student Dakota Brann, whose older sister has ran 3 other successful Mail Art Exhibits over the years at Art Among Friends.

There will be no jury, fees and no returns of artwork! – All received pieces of artwork will be displayed and viewed by the approximately 1,200 visitors during the Art Among Friends weekend. Everyone is invited to submit your artwork…no matter your artistic skill. Teachers out there – Classroom submissions are very welcome too. This mail art project is all about having fun. The theme is Canada, so let your imagination go wild and have fun creating something awesome.

To Take Part in the Exhibition:

• Artwork submitted should be postcard sized (approximately 4 inches X 6 inches)
• Artwork can be a postcard/illustrated envelope, short poem or story etc. but must stamped and mailed through the postal system.
• All submitted pieces will be viewed by all ages , so it must be in good taste.

We were motivated by the words “My vision for my country” we decided to use them as the theme for the production of Mail Art. These words are the starting point to imagine, create and reactivate the discussion about places and projects. At the same time, they allow us to combine artistic practicum with our social and political life.
'My vision for my country: a nation where everyone is truly equal, where race isn't an issue, where jobs are created and unemployment is combated. I would love to see all children have access to the best possible education. I would love to see us shift from a nation which only mines to a nation of manufacturers and engineers. I would love to see poverty tackled and the citizens of this land having the tools to become entrepreneurs so that they not only make an income but create employment for others. The Annual International Mail-in Art Exhibition
From the Federation of Canadian Artists

Rising shipping costs are becoming a dominant factor that hinder artist participation in exhibitions.

The Answer:
Create a call where artists are encouraged to submit small two-dimensional artworks, that can be delivered in an envelope to our gallery at minimal cost to the artist.

The Result?
An affordable call for submission, culminating in an international exhibition of art with cash prize awards for artists.

The Theme:
Common to all of humanity is a love for our homes. We all have a special attachment to our home, whether that be a place or person, whether it is where we presently live or the place we left behind. Home is where our heart resides. This exhibition is about experiencing the homes of others, opening ourselves to the diversity of “home”, and maybe finding something unexpected that we have in common.

Size: Every artwork that is included in this exhibition will be framed upon arrival at our gallery.

The inside dimensions of these frames are 8” x 10” (20.4 cm by 25.4 cm).

Your artwork must fit within these dimensions and must include an appropriate mat. The outside dimensions of the matt must be 8” by 10”, while the inside dimensions of the mat may vary depending on the needs of your artwork. Matt must be light in colour; white, cream, beige or grey.

Submissions Cost $15 per image.

ARTErra is a multidisciplinary artistic residency placed in the green and friendly village of Lobão da Beira. We began our project with the aims of hosting artists by providing them with accommodations, work place and cultural and ideas exchanges with the community and other artists.
The studios, surroundend by a big garden, a small animal yard and an orchard, are spacious and bright spaces perfect to do some research and develop your project in a very relax and comfy environment.
We have a workroom in the main square of the village where small exhibitions, talks and performances can be presented. This is the perfect place where to do "try out" and show your work. During the years we have built a strong relationship with the people of Lobão da Beira who are open and curious about ARTerra artists' works and are willing to participate in our ongoing projects.
We accept application from artists who work in all disciplines and at any stages of their career.

1-Will the participants who have never made a Mail Art before send their works via “electronical mail-
(e-mail)”?
Answer: After designing your work on the envelope, you should send them from the post office of your country. There has to be a stamp or a postmark on your envelopes.
2- If there is a jury then will only some of the sent works be exhibited?
Answer: Any sent work that matches the designated theme will be exhibited without depending on the jury.
The jury will only determine the best works participated to the event and enhance the participation. Another reason is to introduce Mail Art the the international area.
3-Who can participate?
Answer: There is no age limit to be able to make a Mail Art. People without any artistical education could also participate. The participants who have never made Mail Art before, could search through internet to gain extra information.
4-What will happen to the works afterwards?
Answer: The works won’t be sent back. After the biennial exhibition they will be added to the inventory of Namık Kemal University “Painting Museum”. (As known, museums of many countries has a collection of Mail Art). Pdf catalogue of the biennial and Pdf participation certificate will be sent to the participants via internet. The works will be published on the blog site and the Facebook site of the event.
5-Should we pay in order to participate?
Answer: There is no participation fee for the event. Your works will be exhibited, catalogued, and you will gain a participation certificate.
