About Canton Museum of Art
With a collection of over 1,200 pieces of fine art, including both works on paper and ceramics, the Canton Museum of Art would have no trouble filling its 10,000 square-feet of gallery space on its own. Founded as the Little Civic Art Gallery during the days of the Depression and the WPA, the museum has evolved into an impressive collection of American artworks from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. However, the curators aren't interested in keeping things static. They dedicate portions of their museum to national touring exhibits, local artists, and community events. Demonstrating in this way that no matter the natural or man-made adversities, always the art and culture of the peoples will be manifested and shine for the enjoyment of humanity.

This year, Canada is celebrating its 150th birthday. We asking Mail Art Artists or anyone out there to create & submit a small postcard sized piece of mail art. “Canada – Celebrating 150 Years Mail Art Exhibit” will run in conjunction with the Ninth Annual Art Among Friends Exhibition – September 30th & October 1st, 2017. The exhibit is being organized by Grade 8 student Dakota Brann, whose older sister has ran 3 other successful Mail Art Exhibits over the years at Art Among Friends.

There will be no jury, fees and no returns of artwork! – All received pieces of artwork will be displayed and viewed by the approximately 1,200 visitors during the Art Among Friends weekend. Everyone is invited to submit your artwork…no matter your artistic skill. Teachers out there – Classroom submissions are very welcome too. This mail art project is all about having fun. The theme is Canada, so let your imagination go wild and have fun creating something awesome.

To Take Part in the Exhibition:

• Artwork submitted should be postcard sized (approximately 4 inches X 6 inches)
• Artwork can be a postcard/illustrated envelope, short poem or story etc. but must stamped and mailed through the postal system.
• All submitted pieces will be viewed by all ages , so it must be in good taste.

The Annual International Mail-in Art Exhibition

Rising shipping costs are becoming a dominant factor that hinder artist participation in exhibitions.

The Answer:
Create a call where artists are encouraged to submit small two-dimensional artworks, that can be delivered in an envelope to our gallery at minimal cost to the artist.

The Result?
An affordable call for submission, culminating in an international exhibition of art with cash prize awards for artists.

The Theme:
Common to all of humanity is a love for our homes. We all have a special attachment to our home, whether that be a place or person, whether it is where we presently live or the place we left behind. Home is where our heart resides. This exhibition is about experiencing the homes of others, opening ourselves to the diversity of “home”, and maybe finding something unexpected that we have in common.

Size: Every artwork that is included in this exhibition will be framed upon arrival at our gallery.

The inside dimensions of these frames are 8” x 10” (20.4 cm by 25.4 cm).

Your artwork must fit within these dimensions and must include an appropriate mat. The outside dimensions of the matt must be 8” by 10”, while the inside dimensions of the mat may vary depending on the needs of your artwork. Matt must be light in colour; white, cream, beige or grey.

Submissions Cost $15 per image.

ARTErra is a multidisciplinary artistic residency placed in the green and friendly village of Lobão da Beira. We began our project with the aims of hosting artists by providing them with accommodations, work place and cultural and ideas exchanges with the community and other artists.

SPECIFICATIONS

OBJECT
Namık Kemal University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, 1st INTERNATIONAL MAIL ART BIENNIAL will be made. The theme of the event is “TRADITION” which has a powerful place in Turkish culture. The event is open to all artists and Mail Art volunteers from all around the world.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

1. The theme is determined as “Tradition”.
2. The participants may attend the event at least with two works of A4 or formats smaller than A4 size as mail art.
3. The works shouldn’t be exhibited previously.
4. The works should contain original stamp or postmark.
5. Exhibition jury will select two first, second, third and honour prizes.
6. An electronical attandance certificate, photographs of the exhibition and an
e-catalogue will be given for the participants whose works are exhibited.
7. The works will be added to the stock of the Contemporary Painting Museum, which will be established by Namık Kemal University.
8. The works won’t be returned.
9. There is no attandance fee.
10. Namık Kemal University Faculty Members, Advisory Commitee Members and acquaintances can’t attend the competition.

APPLICATION

The works will be sent to the address of “Namık Kemal Üniversitesi Tasarım ve Mimarlık Fakültesi Resim Bölümü, Tekirdağ, Türkiye.” The art works sent for the biennial will be published at the web site and the blog site.

JURY ASSESSMENT

The jury will determine the ranking of the success and the attandances will be given a certificate of their rankings. There is no additional prize.

‘Alfred Institute ‘a non-profit cooperative organization for Art & Culture, whose purpose is to give support and exposure to young artists.
We are happy to invite artists to participate in our annual group exhibition called ‘Alfred & Co.’.

Once a year we hold a selling exhibition to raise funds to support our artist-run cooperative-gallery.
This year, as we celebrate 10 years of activity, we plan on creating a surprise box of small scale international art for sale, in the center of the gallery.

Artists of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate in this project.
We call on you to create a small work of art (either 2- or 3-dimensional) and send it to us using the post as mail art.
During the exhibition, all mail-art works will be offered in a blind sale for a symbolic price of 20NIS (a little over 5$).
Visitors can purchase a surprise, one-of-a-kind, work of art, and earnings will be used to support 'Alfred Cooperative Institute - a nonprofit organization’ ongoing activity. Your art will remain sealed in the envelope/box until the buyer opens it.
Mail art sent for the exhibition will not be returned.

at the Alfred Gallery, Tel Aviv

Theme: The Circle
The circle is a shape that represents equality.
All points on the circumference share the same distance from the center.
When sitting in a circle, everyone sees everyone.
Alfred Institute operates as a collaborative, equal and democratic organization.
We call for artists to give their point of view to the concept ‘The Circle’.
