<HTML>Merlin,

I agree with you completely. It is much wiser to improve download time by reducing file size.

Don't be a band-width hog!
You should ALWAYS use an image optimizer to decrease image size and help speed up downloads.

I use Corel Printhouse, Paintshop Pro, or Image Razor to tweak my images.
I used to use Gif wizard (an online tool)- But they charge a fee now.
So I found a new way. . .

SpinWave Image Crunchers is a great (Free) online tool:

I tested it out and it works great.
It also gives you several choices of reduction so you can pick the highest quality output at the smallest size possible.

You can "Optimize" your GIF or JPG images (Mac and Windows) online.

Just choose GIF or JPG tool and browse your hard drive for the file.
Don't forget to include the file extention (jpg or gif) on your file when you name/rename it.

Here is an image I reduced from 67K to 39K with very little loss of resolution:<p>

P.S.
Reine is no fake.
Reine Shad is real (sometimes too real).
Check out his website:

Take care artisans!

<HTML>Sea-Fever

"I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the gull crying.

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like
a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over."
