This essay might be useful for thoughts about the economics of the gift in relation to the Internet. I think that many mailartists will find some of their political thoughts expressed in the essay which, available on-line at the touch of a button, is itself a model of a gift. However I may even buy the book which the author was preparing at the time of the essay. His self-advertising doesn't contradict the themes of gifts and anarchy in relation to money and authority.</HTML>
