<HTML>F.U.N.tastic United Nations - circular letter of August 30, 2001

Some months after the circulation of the first announcement of the F.U.N.
project and of the invite to participate to the Just 4 FUN series of
box-sets co-produced by all the authors, we have received about twenty
adhesions to the plan, most of them concerning the Just 4 FUN-2 box-set
titled "F.U.N.tastic Universal Network". We therefore decided to unify into
a single publication the three box-sets initially programmed, with a single
new deadline (October 31st, 2001), maintaining unchanged the costs and
methods of participation, as condensed here below:

Just 4 FUN is a new publishing formula proposed by AAA Editions. It
contemplates the participation of the various individuals adhering to the
project to the production costs, permitting to create at a low cost
postcards, trading cards or stamps-sheets professionally printed in colour.
In an original and stylish box printed in colour and punch cut on light
cardboard will be collected a series of previously unpublished colour
postcards, trading cards and artist's stamps sheets, created by various
international artists, together with a booklet or folder containing
bilingual informative texts in English/Italian. The packaging will include
biographical notes for each artist featured and a short text on his/her
imaginary country of provenience. The boxed set will be published in a
limited edition of 750 copies that will be distributed to participants,
mailed promotionally to magazines, museums and art critics and, in part,
offered for sale.

Title: F.U.N.tastic Universal Network
Subtitle: A Mail Art FUN Survival Kit
Content: 16 or more postcards, several artistamps sheets and trading cards,
one rubber stamp, a folded "Mail Art Map" (created by Vittore Baroni in the
tradition of the fluXus diagrams by George Maciunas and Pete Frame's "rock
family trees"), a "Mail Art Survival booklet" with texts in English/Italian.
Graphic project and lay-out by Piermario Ciani.
Theme: the materials collected in the box constitute a small "survival kit"
for all those who are still in love with the dear old papery postal
communication, in a world that has become increasingly dominated by
hypertechnological and immaterial media. In conceptual, imaginative,
provocative or amusing ways, the various elements that form the boxed set
play with the creative possibilities offered by the classic formats of
traditional correspondence, proving that you can still be surprised, learn
something new or have some good fun through the most simple and "poor" form
of communication at distance. A kit that will become very useful in a not so
distant future, when the red mailboxes will start to disappear from the face
of the planet and the only postal clerks left will be those busy sorting out
the funtastic philately of imaginary countries and virtual worlds.
Publication date: December 2001.

To participate with your POSTCARD, send us an original work in colour (cm.
21 x 28, in horizontal or vertical), pertaining to the theme. Send also a
short biographical text (5-10 lines, including place and date of birth) and
a possible postal or Internet contact that you may want to be included in
the product. To print your postcard, professionally produced in colour on
light cardboard, will cost you US $ 150.00 all charges included: you will
receive directly at home 300 copies of your postcard and 20 complete
box-sets.

To participate with your mini-sheet of ARTIST'S STAMPS (cm. 10 x 15), send
us original works in colour for 8 postage stamps, all different or with the
same image (each original should be cm. 10,5 in width x cm.14 in height,
they will be reduced by us to the appropriate size). Send also a short
biographical text (5-10 lines, including place and date of birth) and a
possible postal or Internet contact that you may want to be included in the
product. The artist's stamps should be dedicated to an imaginary country or
world: you can send also (facultative) a short text describing the peculiar
customs and traditions of this imaginary land (10-20 lines). To print your
mini-sheet of 8 stamps, professionally produced in colour on gummed and
perforated paper, will cost you US $ 190.00 all charges included: you will
receive directly at home 250 copies of your 8 stamps mini-sheet, for a total
of 2.000 stamps, and 10 complete box-sets.

To participate with your own TRADING CARD, send us an original work in
colour (cm. 14 in width x cm. 21 in height), pertaining to the theme. Send
also a short biographical text about you and, if necessary, about the
character portrayed in the card (5-10 lines, including place and date of
birth) and a possible postal or Internet contact that you may want to be
included in the product. To print your trading card will cost you US $
110.00 all charges included: you will receive directly at home 300 copies of
your trading card and 15 complete box-sets.

The new deadline for the mailing of your original works and your
participation fee is October 31st, 2001. Up till that date, the
participation to the project is open to anyone who wishes to join the
artists that have already forwarded their adhesion (to whom go our warmest
thanks). In addition to the collective box-set described above, F.U.N. is
planning a series of monographic box-sets by single authors (P. Ciani, E.
Biancuzzi, etc.): if you have any proposal or wish to know more details,
please contact us.

Mail your adhesion, original works and participation fee (through
International Postal Money Order or personal bank cheque) before October
31st 2001 directly to:
